Epiphany

I was laying in bed last night and had, for me, a bit of an epiphany. It wasn't really new information, just old information that finally "clicked". When God calls us to action, we can react one of two ways. We can have an attitude like Moses who said in Exodus 4:13, "O Lord, please send someone else to do it." Or we can be like Isaiah who received God's call (Isaiah 6:8) and said, "Here am I. Send me!" How will I respond to what God has called me to do?

"It is not only the old who are wise..."

I found this written on a piece of paper in Chloe's room this week:

The Bible

A Bible is a map to Jesus.
A Bible is a teacher.
A Bible is a dictionary of God.
A Bible is the truth.

Then I happened upon this in my Bible later in the week:

Job 32:8,9
"But it is the Spirit in a man,
the breath of the Almighty, that gives him understanding.
It is not only the old who are wise,
not only the aged who understand what is right."

Amen and thank you, Lord!

Creation Museum

We took a trip to the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Kentucky as part of our Spring Break 2010. The museum website says that it "brings the pages of the Bible to life", and it really does. We were literally able to walk our children through scripture. I think the girls especially enjoyed the Garden of Eden and Noah's Ark construction site. After we were finished inside the museum, we ventured out to walk through the beautiful botanical gardens and check out the petting zoo. We were able to see a zorse (zebra/horse) and a zonkey (zebra/donkey). I didn't even know such things existed! The museum was another great opportunity to show our kids science and history presented from a Biblical viewpoint. And I think I can safely say that everyone enjoyed themselves!
